New Source option in home tab of query editor: Lesson-7 P-14

The "New Source" option resides in the Home tab of Power BI's query editor. It acts as a launchpad for connecting to various data sources. Clicking it brings up a menu that lists commonly used data sources such as Excel, SQL Server, or SharePoint. You can then select the specific data source you want to connect to and provide the necessary details to establish the connection. This is the initial step in bringing data into Power BI for transformation and visualization.

New Source Option(Menu):

Add more Data File

  • Here is existing data base with the name of stdat excel file

  • Import more data file (excel file) in Power BI of Query Editor
    • Open Query editor
    • Home --> Data Source --> Excel Workbook or others

Brows & select required data file (We will select excel workbook)

  • Click Check Box
  • Click OK button

Then you have

as it is we can call all type of data files with the help of New source option of Query editor
