Bird Flu in Bird and Human: Bird flu, or avian influenza, is a contagious viral disease that primarily affects birds but can also infect humans in rare cases. In birds, it causes symptoms like sudden death, respiratory distress, and drop in egg production. In humans, infection usually occurs through close contact with infected birds and can lead to severe flu-like symptoms, pneumonia, and even death. Controlling bird flu involves culling infected birds, improving farm hygiene, monitoring outbreaks, and using antiviral drugs in humans.

Symptoms of bird flu in humans include Respiratory: Cough, sore throat, runny nose, shortness of breath. Systemic: Fever, muscle aches, fatigue, headache. Gastrointestinal: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea (in some cases). Eye: Red, watery eyes (conjunctivitis). Severe cases can cause pneumonia, organ failure, and respiratory distress. Seek medical attention if you have symptoms, especially after contact with birds.

Bird flu is not easily transmitted through the air between humans. It is primarily spread through contact with infected birds or contaminated surfaces. In certain settings, rare, limited exposure through the air can occur, but human-to-human transmission is extremely rare. Symptoms include fever, cough, sore throat, muscle aches, shortness of breath, and in some cases, conjunctivitis or diarrhea. Severe cases can lead to pneumonia, respiratory distress, or AD.
