Enter Data option of query editor in Power BI: Lesson-7 P-15

In Power BI, the "Enter Data" option in the query editor allows you to enter data directly into Power BI without importing it from an external data source. This feature is useful when you want to create small tables or enter sample data for testing and analysis purposes.

"Enter Data" option in Power BI:

  1. Open Power BI Desktop and load your data model.
  2. Go to the "Home" tab and click "Enter Data" in the "Home" group.
  3. A new dialog box will appear where you can define the schema (column names and data types) of your data table and enter data manually.
  4. Enter your data row by row, and Power BI will automatically infer the data types based on the input.
  5. After entering all the data, click "Load" to load it into the Power BI data model.

Using the "Enter Data" option, you can quickly create small tables or input sample data for your reports and visualizations directly within Power BI without the need for external data sources.
