Get Data Option in Microsoft Power BI:

The "Get Data" option in Power BI is your gateway to exploring and analyzing data from various sources.

Workflow of data in Power BI

Files:

  • Excel spreadsheets, CSV files, text files, JSON files, etc.

Databases:

  • On-premises and cloud-based databases such as SQL Server, Azure SQL Database, Oracle, and more.

Cloud Services:

  • Online services such as Salesforce, SharePoint, Marketing Cloud, and many others.

Other:

  • You can also connect to custom data sources using the Power Query M language.

Here's how to access the "Get Data" option in Power BI Desktop:

  1. Open Power BI Desktop.
  2. Click the "Home" tab in the ribbon.
  3. In the "Data" group, click the "Get Data" button.

Get the Power BI data option.

  • Home--> Get data --> requireq data type.

1:- Data visualization of Excel Workbook

  • Home--> Get data --> Excel Workbook

 

  • Click On Excell Workbook and select a required Excel file
    • for example we select Empoyee data file

 

  • Click on Ckeck box and Click on Load button
    • you can also edit it (clean data) and also
    • Cancel this file for another file
  • load data display as it is all data

 

  • Excelsheet data headings show in right panel after Loading data (its a report view)
  • You can also display Table view 
    • click on table view (right side of 2nd option)
  • Return to report View
    • click on report vise
