The "Rounding" option within the Transform tab of Power BI's Query Editor provides an easy way to round numeric values in your data table to a specified number of decimal places.

Its functionality:

Controls the precision of numeric values by rounding up, down, or to the nearest whole number.

Useful for:

Simplifying calculations by removing unnecessary decimal places.

How to access:

Select Column: Select the numeric column you want to round.
Transform Tab: Go to the "Transform" tab in the ribbon.
Rounding Button: Click on the "Rounding" button.

Scoring Options:

Roundup: Rounds values to the nearest whole number or to a specified number of decimal places (eg, 0.345 to 0.4).

Round Down: Rounds values to the nearest whole number or to a specified number of decimal places (eg, 0.345 to 0.3).

Round: Rounds values to the nearest whole number or to a specified number of decimal places, depending on which is closer (eg, 2.49 round 2, while 2.51 round 3).

Additional Notes:

You can specify the desired number of decimal places in a specific field within the "Rounding" option window.
Rounding behavior remains consistent throughout the column, ensuring consistency across your data.
Consider working on a copy of your data to avoid unintended changes to the original data set.
Example use cases:

Lab Work:

The "Rounding" options(Menu)

1:- Round Up (Round Up the selected columns to the next integer value)

  • Select a numeric column 
  • Transform --> Rounding --> Round Up

Then you have a view

1:- Round Down (Round Down the selected columns to the previous integer value)

  • Select a numeric column 
  • Transform --> Rounding --> Round Down

Then you have

1:- Round... (Round the selected columns to Specified the number of decimal gigits )

  • Select a numeric column 
  • Transform --> Rounding --> Round...

Enter a value for decimal and click OK

Then you have round decimal 1
